Echo Buecher is proud to present the first exhibition of young artist Tombo aka Joao Salgueiro.
Currently making his name as a designer for Nina Kraviz’s labels трип and Galaxiid, Salgueiro has been drawing for over a decade. In their extended feature about Tombo, XLR8R compared his illustrations to the works of Miyazaki, Naruto and Akira, while recognizing his particular identity. Taking inspiration in people as well as music and trips (the portuguese illustrator mentionned a journey to Mauritania via Morroco), he shapes his own universe: sometimes creepy, often funny and always delicately eerie. For this exclusive exhibition Tombo will be showing new material brought all the way from Portugal. During the opening he will give a talk about his art.
