Bruce Haack: listening through the archive

Come hear recently unearthed, rare tapes of electronic music outsider, pioneer, and innovator, Bruce Haack (1931-1988). Peter Price has recently been granted unprecedented access to Haack’s basement archival material and permission to remix it live. A portal into Haack’s strange sounds and space-age synthesizers.

Peter Price (born 1966 in New Haven, CT) is a composer, electronic musician, digital artist and media theorist. He creates digital sonic and visual environments for live performance, and is co- director of , a platform for his collaborative work with choreographer Megan Bridge. His compositions for ensembles of acoustic and electronic instruments have been performed by the Relache and Network for New Music ensembles, and he has performed as a laptop soloist in performances of works by John Cage and Pierre Boulez with Orchestra 2001, and as a duo with violinist Gloria Justen. Peter has an extensive history of collaboration with Group Motion and other dance companies and performance artists in Philadelphia as a composer and video artist. His work has toured to Tokyo, Poland, Lithuania, New York, Vienna, Berlin, Dresden, and South Africa.
